LIPS PROMISES SERVICE BY WORLD LEADERS
World Leaders in recent past had made aids promises to developing countries of the world without action backing it up. At the annual meetings of the world top economy countries, plans are said to be formulated to help up lift the countries economy. These grants are never sent to these countries, as proposed by the so called acclaimed big economy in our world.
The newly completed G 20 in Britain is not without it hitches. Why would there be protest against the summit in British territories by citizens of the host countries. That would show us, the summit have lost it prestige from the people point of view.
In previous summit Africans and the developing were said to be consider for aids that were never given.
The $100billion dollar that was said to have been voted for the developing countries of the world should specifically state the continent involved. As far as, I m concern Africa was never mention in that respect. It shows that world’s leaders are gradually given up on the black continent of the world.
Permit me to say whether aids or not, Africans should be able to hold there own. The continent is blessed by God in creation. This continent have all it takes to become world best continent. Awolowo established the allied Newspaper of Nigeria Limited. It was established to promote and enhanced the objective of his political pursuits. Along with his associates, he formed Action Group (AG) in Owo in 1951 and started pursuing his welfares programmes of free education, better health services, rural integration and affordable shelter among others.
His progressive political ideology encapsulated in social- welfare's or left-of-the centre caught on like wildfire in the south-west and has remained evergreen years after his death. He pursued his populist pogrammes through the AG in the first republic and later unity party of Nigeria (UPN) in the second republic.
His faithful, who won election in the second republic pursued his free education policy and took it to a high level.
Born on match 6, 1906, Awo died on May 11, 1987 and was buried on June 6; 1987.He was a champion of true federalism.
The late sage also had foresight as regards health and infrastructure development. He established the first Radio and television station, and stadium in Nigeria. He was the brain behind the 25 -storey Cocoa house in Ibadan, and the tallest building in West Africa.
Among the founding fathers of Nigeria, he left an indelible legacy.

Great zik of Africa
Born in Zungeru, Niger state, northern Nigeria in 1904 to Onitsha, Igbo parents, Zik’s early childhood molded him into detribalized Nigeria, an attribute he maintained till death in 1996.
He schooled in zungeru, Onitsha, Lagos Calabar and the United States of America, notching up degrees and certificates in law, journalism, Political Science Religious Philosophy and thropology.
He spoke a number of Nigeria languages-Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Efik fluently. Though, he saw himself as an Africa, Nigeria, and Igbo. It was therefore, not surprising that he started his political career in Lagos and would have been elected as the first indigenous Premier of the Western Region but for the eleventh deft of political moves of the late chief Obafemi Awolowo, which made some perceived pro- zik lawmakers to cross-the-carpet and team up with Awolowo at the western Region House of Assembly I952.
His more than six feet tall, athletic, barrel-chested, eloquence, witticism logical and reasoning and being among the best-educated in the late 1930s, Zik toward domineeringly above his peers.
He return to Nigeria in 1973 after pursuing “the golden fleece” in America changed the complexion of the anti-colonial struggle. He helped in founding the first political part, the National council of Nigeria and Cameroun (NCNCC), and later became the National council of Nigeria Citizens. He saw the struggle as a consummation of innermost desires and he did not rest until independence was achieved in October, 1960.
In his 50 year political career, the great Zik of Africa among his accomplishment established the first University of Nigeria, Nsukka, the full- fledged university in the country. He was the first Governor-General Nigeria (1960-1963), president of the senate of the federation (January-November, 1960), and the first President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1963-1966). He found a numbers of newspapers he use to fight ant-colonial struggles.
Zik died on May 11, 1996 and was buried on what would have been his birthday, November 16, 1996. In all over Black Africa, he is being remembered as a champion of freedom for the continent

The wars and hazardous earthquakes that rocks most part the world had led to several disasters of high magnitudes both in properties in human capacity. The world in recent times have witness the upsurge in situation that degenerated into refugees. The light will be on the continent of Africa.
The continent of Africa had experienced civil wars and communal clashes that resulted to crisis. These crises have cost a great blow to the continent in negative manners. All this resulted to heavy casualties and homeliness.
These displaced people are moved into a near by country and kept in camp created for victims of war. These victims of war go through various pains in life during this period.
There are no good shelters in this so called refugees camp. The tents lack roof, walls, doors, windows and the basic things that make a sound environment. These people are kept in deplorable conditions. They are espoused to all kind of unsuitable environmental conditions one can think off. This place is so sympathetic that you begin to wonder if human being deserves that kind of treatment.
In these various camps, the kind of food that the refugees are given is not encouraging at all. They are giving grain of rice and all manners of foods that don’t enhance nutrients. These are not what people who had suffered all kind of trauma should be subjected to. Human capacity building is completely abandoned from displaced people.
The host government, region organization and world organization should be prepared to help provide special aids for these displaced people. The aids should include the integration of the refugees into societies. They ought to be giving educational, vocational and other training pending the return of peace. This training will help them fall back into different sector f the economy and help them forget the devastation of wars. Until this plans are put in place, they would continued to find the calamity the wars had brought on them an incident to overcome mentally.

Walter Rodney earned his Ph.D in 1966 at the school of oriental and Africa studies in London, England. His dissertation focused on the slave trade on the upper Guinea Coast. The paper was published in 1970 under the name, A history of upper Guinea Coast , 1545-1800 and it widely acclaimed for its originality in challenging the conventional wisdom on the area.
He traveled widely and became very well known around the world as an activist and scholar. He taught for a time in Tanzania after graduating, and later in Jamaica at his alma mater- UWI Mona. Rodney was sharply critical of the middle class for its role in the post -independence Caribbean . when the Jamaican government, led by Huge Shearer, banned him from even returning to the country in October 1968, because of his advocacy of the working poor in that country, riot broke out eventually claiming the lives of several people and causing millions of dollar damages. The people cultural heritage attracted both local and foreign tourist. The region shared devise culture, agricultural produce and Artistic nature. In the past years, when the nation were known for her exportation in agricultural products, the region was known for palm oil, cotton and fishing.
Education was one of the priorities of the people in the region, as far back, as colonial era. These led to a numbers of those whom were well read. The discovery of oil in the late 70’s had blow the region into chaos. Oil exploration began without the interest of the people in the region being considered by the government and those who secured the license for exploration.
Exploration began earnestly in the different parts of the region by the multi-national oil companies, who came in from America and Europe. These multi- nationals started exploration without a developmental plan for the host communities and the people of the region. The various governments that had ruled the nation could not put in place a developmental plan also. Non structural plan plunge the region into environmental degradation and deprivation.
The effort of the stalk holders to prevail on the multi-nationals, the government to carter for the welfare of the host communities, and the region who were inpoorverished led to agitation from the people. Both the educated and non educated saw it as aberration to be suffering in the midst of God given abundance. These led to a series of protests in different host communities and in the region as a whole.
The protest brought about destruction in the oil pipe and other company’s equipment in the region, as the people could no longer endure and frustration set in.
Hanging of the Oogoni nine by the military government of late Sani Abacha, in 2005 erupted into an upsurge violence know as militancy in the region. This was the killing of human right activist, King sarowiwa and other Oogoni members.
It was this that resulted to kidnapping of expatriates and non expatriates in the region. Government officials, as such as politician contributed to the social vices, using these boys as political thugs. They provide arms for them in perpetration of evils in rigging elections.
